Position Summary

The Access Control Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing the screening processes for personnel and visitors at facilities managed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This position does not entail law enforcement duties and lacks any authority for arrests or detentions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all organizational personnel and safety protocols while executing assigned tasks in a secure manner.
  • Report to work in the designated uniform and equipped with necessary issued tools.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the uniform and assigned equipment.
  • Execute general and specific directives for the designated area.
  • Utilize communication devices, including radios and telephones, to relay information as instructed.
  • Regulate access to facilities, safeguard equipment and materials, and conduct security inspections of both interior and exterior premises as required.
  • Engage with the public and government representatives, providing escort services when necessary.
  • Professionally interact with employees, dignitaries, and the general public.
  • Exhibit composure and self-discipline in high-pressure situations.
  • Assist medical, fire, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel as directed by supervisors.
  • Prepare and document clear, concise, and accurate reports in English.
  • Comprehend and apply written regulations, detailed instructions, and training materials in English.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in access control is preferred.
  • In accordance with federal regulations, all candidates must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hiring.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • Prior experience in military, civilian, or security roles is advantageous.
  • Completion of all necessary training and acquisition of required permits, licenses, certifications, and security clearances for the position.
  • A valid state driver's license is mandatory.
  • No history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture within the last five years.
