Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Permanent Mechanical Engineer specializing in construction to enhance our team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the design and execution of mechanical systems within school buildings, ensuring they are efficient, sustainable, and compliant with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with diverse teams to create design plans for educational construction projects, emphasizing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
2. Utilize AutoCAD to develop detailed engineering designs and drawings, integrating innovative mechanical engineering practices to improve building efficiency.
3. Supervise the installation of mechanical systems during construction, ensuring adherence to design specifications and building codes.
4. Conduct regular site inspections to track construction progress, identify discrepancies, and work with the construction management team to address any issues.
5. Review and validate contractor submissions, including shop drawings and product data, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
6. Perform testing and commissioning of mechanical systems post-construction to confirm operational efficiency and compliance with design criteria.
7. Provide technical guidance and support to the construction management team, contributing to the enhancement of construction practices.
8. Stay informed about advancements in mechanical engineering and building codes, applying this knowledge to the design and construction of educational facilities.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering for construction projects, particularly in educational settings.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering design software.
4. In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards related to mechanical systems.
5. Proven experience in construction management, with the capability to oversee mechanical system implementations.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities, adept at identifying and resolving design and construction challenges.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
8. A professional engineering (PE) license is preferred.
