Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures by preparing and sterilizing operating rooms, equipment, and instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, including setting up equipment and instruments.
  • Sterilize equipment and instruments to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Stock adequate supplies for surgery, including medical equipment and instruments.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
  • Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies to the surgical team.
  • Track surgical supplies and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures to provide the highest level of patient care.
  • Work effectively with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of Certified Surgical Tech experience
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Certified Surgical Tech program
  • Active unencumbered Certified Surgical Tech Indiana state license
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise

A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
