Role Overview
The Supply Chain Qualification Manager will provide strategic oversight and direction for the Supply Chain Qualification functions. This includes managing supplier and contractor qualification activities, supporting supplier audit initiatives led by Operations, and overseeing all Procurement aspects of Air Liquide's supplier risk and qualification program. The role also involves promoting best practices across the Americas region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the Supply Chain Qualification Team, ensuring effective supplier onboarding, qualification, audit activities, and compliance with Air Liquide's Supplier Risk Management programs.
- Act as the subject matter expert for BlueBook requirements and policies, encompassing both Procurement and other departmental standards.
- Ensure adherence to Air Liquide's Quality Management System (QMS) and BlueBook requirements.
- Collaborate with various Clusters within the Americas to create roadmaps and best practices for implementing Group and entity transformation initiatives related to Supplier Risk Management.
- Represent the Americas in core team discussions, policy development, and global projects concerning Supplier Risk Management.
- Facilitate communication between Group Procurement and the Americas Procurement community regarding supplier risk management.
- Organize collaboration with Group, Clusters, and stakeholders on transformational projects and initiatives.
- Serve as a key contributor to the implementation and ongoing use of Supplier Risk & Onboarding modules within the Group's Digital Procurement Solution (DPS) platform.
- Develop and manage the annual supplier qualification plan in alignment with Proc_GP03.
- Implement continuous improvements in supplier application and qualification processes based on best practices.
- Formulate short and long-term plans to enhance the effectiveness of Supply Chain Qualification in line with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Support Operations-led supplier audit activities in accordance with Proc_GP03.
- Establish KPIs and objectives to measure the SCQ team's performance and progress.
- Maintain the current Approved Supplier List and Pre-Screened Contractor List for the NAM Cluster.
- Foster strong relationships and communication channels with Group, supported entities, Clusters, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to drive the qualification process.
- Work with various departments, including HSE, Legal, and Quality, to promote supplier qualification best practices.
- Provide updates on qualification processes to key internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Communicate supplier and contractor qualification updates to management and colleagues at all levels.
- Lead activities related to ISO, customer, or internal audits of Supplier Risk & Qualification Management.
- Effectively communicate the vision and activities of the Supply Chain Qualification team.
- Manage suppliers administering key 3rd Party Contractor Qualification programs on behalf of Air Liquide.
- Optimize departmental operations and individual performance.
- Demonstrate strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibit leadership and team-building capabilities, effectively managing virtual team members across the Americas.
- Facilitate the professional growth of team members through training and coaching.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or a related business field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive managerial experience in Supply Chain Management, Quality, Internal Audit, or Operations is essential. Strong knowledge of quality systems and auditing practices is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Preferred: In-depth understanding of BlueBook Procurement requirements and Air Liquide's Quality Management System is advantageous.
