Position Overview:
The Clinical Informatics Manager plays a pivotal role in guiding and managing the execution, delivery, and integration of strategic institutional initiatives in clinical informatics, operational workflows, and the optimization of electronic health records. This position collaborates closely with clinical teams, operational leaders, and administrative staff to ensure successful project implementation and adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the continuous evaluation and management of standardized clinical workflows, ensuring that the electronic health record system meets the needs of clinical users. Facilitates improvements in systems and processes to enhance patient care quality and experience.
- Directs the execution of clinical informatics projects in partnership with leadership across the organization, identifying opportunities for enhancement and prioritizing initiatives that align with strategic objectives.
- Monitors and assesses the success of clinical systems adoption and optimization projects, providing insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
- Identifies trends and business needs through the oversight of clinical data analysis, serving as a subject matter expert on healthcare information technology and workflows.
- Administers educational programs to ensure effective utilization of clinical systems and documentation practices within patient care processes.
- Ensures adherence to organizational policies and procedures to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Manages human resources functions for the team.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Preferred certifications include Clarity Data Model – EpicCare Ambulatory or Inpatient.
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Medical Informatics, Nursing, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in healthcare or healthcare informatics, including 3 years in a management role overseeing staff and budgets, and 1 year managing complex projects in healthcare technology.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven leadership capabilities in project management, negotiation, and team building.
- Experience collaborating with clinical and technical stakeholders, including physicians.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comprehensive understanding of integrated health system operations and objectives.
- Ability to foster strategic partnerships across various levels and disciplines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on efficiency and quality improvement.
