Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and dusting, to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
  • Set up and take down equipment, such as tables and chairs, to support events and activities.
  • Operate custodial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers, to maintain the cleanliness of floors and surfaces.
  • Restock supplies and materials, such as paper products and cleaning solutions, to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Collaborate with other custodial staff to achieve common goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous institutional custodial experience and basic knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner with students, staff, and the public.
  • Valid WI driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

  • This is a medium/heavy work position that requires constant to occasional standing and walking/moving throughout the work site.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling exerting forces up to 70 pounds.
  • Frequent bending/stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional sitting, driving a pick-up, squatting/crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, kneeling, lifting up to 100 pounds, and repetitive movements with both hands.
  • Verbal and auditory communication is frequently utilized.
  • Near and far vision acuity, depth perception, accommodation, field of vision, and feeling are frequently utilized.
