Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Coating/Painting NACE Certified Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of industrial materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

The Inspector will be assigned to various industrial projects, including vendor/shop inspections and vendor surveillance. They will be required to conduct visual/physical inspections, witness testing, and review QA/QC documentation, including MTRs. The Inspector will also be responsible for issuing reports of findings within a specific time limit.

The work will be assigned on an as-needed basis, and the Inspector will be paid for the hours/days and other applicable cost items for the hours/days spent on the assigned work. The work duration could be a day or several days or several weeks.

Each time an inspection is completed, an invoice with a time sheet is expected to pay the Inspector for the completed job. Normal payment terms of the contract are 15 to 20 days after receipt of invoice.

Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be qualified and certified by NACE for coating/paint inspections and familiar with the associated codes and standards.
  • Candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience around fabrication inspection of fixed and/or rotating machinery and equipment such as pressure vessel/heat exchangers, welded/bolted structures, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps/compressors, and Turbines and general mechanical industrial equipment.
  • Candidate will be familiar and have experience with the welding process and type of equipment being used on the Project (GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, PAW, SMAW, SAW).
  • Candidate will have experience with mechanical testing of welds (i.e., tensile tests, bend tests).
  • Candidate will be familiar with the post-weld heat treating requirements of ASME B31.3.
  • It is desirable for Candidate to have experience with the welding of austenitic stainless steels for cryogenic service.
  • Any additional certificate such as CWI or NDT is a plus.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Depending on educational qualification, trainings/certification, and experience, the pay range will be $30 to $45 per hour. Mileage for round-trip driving will be reimbursed at cost. For extended traveling when needed, all expense items will be reimbursed at cost against receipts.
  • Work schedule: Ad hoc - as required by the client.
