Job Description

Evapco Dry Cooling is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Field Inspector to join our team. As a Quality Control Field Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality of our projects, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify compliance of site welding, bolting, and painting with project technical specifications and codes.
  • Submit weekly status reports and photos of site erection.
  • Perform welding inspections on structural steel and ducting during erection.
  • Ensure Evapco site vendors perform NDT as required per project specifications/QAP.
  • Review NDT reports submitted by site vendors.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of fabricated material and compare to design drawings.
  • Verify implementation of site vendors WPS/PQR/WPQ.
  • Verify site vendor welder continuity log.
  • Verify incoming material and MTRs.
  • Verify packing lists against materials received at site.
  • Perform site inventories of parts.
  • Interface with QA/QC and Production personnel from vendors and clients.
  • Perform inspections at Evapco vendors.
  • Perform equipment inspections and commissioning at site.
  • Attend quality/technical meetings with clients and vendors.
  • Maintain site NCR log and submit to QC Manager.
  • Follow up on NCRs raised by Evapco or site vendors.
  • Observe and document weld testing for vendors.
  • Provide erection and welding progress status at site.
  • Verify calibration records of welding machines and instruments.
  • Verify welding consumable MTRs and MSDS.
  • Assist site contractors in compiling MDR books.
  • Review final MDR books from site contractors.
  • Verify proper handling of material.
  • Witness bolting ROCAP/pre-installation verification testing.
  • Perform and witness paint and primer inspections.
  • Witness equipment installation and alignment.
  • Witness equipment preservation and performance checks.
  • Direct concerns and questions to QA/QC Manager and Site Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by QA/QC Manager and Site Manager.
  • Write daily/weekly reports and submit to QA/QC Manager.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, drawings, and documents related to engineering, welding, construction, and inspection.
  • Willingness to learn product construction and open-mindedness.
  • Proficiency in writing reports and emails.
  • Computer literacy - proficiency with MS Office, Email, PDF.
  • Great attention to detail and ability to work independently and collectively within a site project team.
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • AWS D1.1 CWI Certification - Certified Inspector.
  • NACE Certification Level II or III (desired but not mandatory).
  • 2-3 years of working experience.
