Job Description

PING, Inc., a leading manufacturer of golf equipment, is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Intern to support the development of advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for metals and composites in golf applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modeling orthotropic materials and relevant simulation experience using commercially available FEA tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Characterize the mechanical properties of orthotropic materials and develop FEA modeling techniques to accurately simulate these characteristics.
  • Evaluate golf club designs for durability, performance, and other characteristics using FEA software.
  • Recommend changes in designs, modeling methods, or technical procedures to improve structural design guidance and documentation.
  • Work in a laboratory environment to obtain material property and capture force-displacement curves using an Instron machine.
  • Aid in the publication of technical papers and patents.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Mechanical/Material Engineering.
  • Proficiency in LS Dyna FEA Simulation Software and meshing software Hypermesh.
  • Experience with CAD software and product design, such as Creo.
  • Experience with fatigue analysis and orthotropic material modeling.
  • Ability to run explicit and implicit simulations.
