Job Summary:

A highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse is sought to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, utilizing your expertise in neonatal intensive care to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, utilizing the nursing process to ensure comprehensive and individualized care.
  • Identify and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments, utilizing your knowledge of pharmacology and medical procedures to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, utilizing effective communication and problem-solving skills to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Provide patient education and support, utilizing your expertise to empower patients and families to take an active role in their care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilizing your expertise to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance patient care.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Experience in neonatal intensive care, with a strong understanding of neonatal physiology and pathophysiology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality care.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies, with the ability to utilize these tools to enhance patient care.
