Compensation: Salary Range: Up to $140K (salary is commensurate with education and experience)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Remote/Telework position. Candidates must reside in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Role Summary

The System Administrator II will play a crucial role in establishing a nationwide cloud infrastructure within the Department of Defense for unclassified software development, analysis, and hosting.

Note: This position necessitates an existing NSA Top Secret Clearance and Polygraph.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Oversee IT system infrastructure and related processes, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Facilitate communication of status updates to agency management and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the dispatch system for hardware issues and remain engaged in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install and load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components, while implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Qualifications
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
  • Clearance: Active Top-Secret SCI with Polygraph required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution is required; five (5) years of additional System Administrator experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience in providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Proven ability to provide detailed analysis and feedback to management for escalated issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows and Linux environments.
