We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Golden Pet Manufacturing. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Material Handling: Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in combos/vats according to predetermined sequences.
- Inventory Management: Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute to production areas.
- Record Keeping: Record the amount of materials or items received or distributed.
- Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts and automation systems to move product throughout the manufacturing plant.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean and maintain equipment, tooling, and workspace areas.
- Employee Safety: Protect employees and company safety and security by reporting and stopping occurrences such as damage to product and/or property, theft, product tampering, and questionable behavior.
- Continuous Improvement: Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certifications: Forklift certification (preferred).
- Experience: Prior material handler experience and experience operating powered industrial vehicles (stand-up forklift).
- Physical Demands: Frequent lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
- Environmental Factors: Ability to work in an environment with cold temperatures and a wet environment.
- Teamwork: Strong teamwork mentality and eager to work in a team environment.
