Job Title: Material Handler

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Golden Pet Manufacturing. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant by receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and quality-focused work environment by adhering to all safety and quality guidelines and protocols.
  • Operate a forklift to move materials and products throughout the plant, including receiving raw materials, moving raw materials to the production floor, and loading trucks with finished products.
  • Utilize a scan gun to complete transactions within our ERP system and document all associated paperwork.
  • Protect employees and company assets by safely operating forklifts and reporting any incidents or damage.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in combos according to a predetermined sequence.
  • Fulfill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute them to production areas, maintaining adequate staging areas with the required amount of product and/or material.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed, verifying packing lists and/or product labels.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tooling, and workspace areas, following the appropriate process to avoid cross-contamination.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Experience working in a food or pet food manufacturing facility.
  • Experience working within an automated manufacturing facility.
  • Forklift certification.
