We are seeking a skilled Mixing Machine Operator to join our team at Michael Foods, a leading food processing and distribution company. As a Mixing Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our mixing equipment to produce high-quality protein shakes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate mixing equipment to maintain regulatory standards and compliance.
  • Mix batches of product in accordance with batching and kitting instructions.
  • Accurately weight all ingredients to ensure consistent batching of products.
  • Clean and maintain the mixing room, including assembly and disassembly of piping and pumps.
  • Select the correct production formulation in the formula editor to match production schedule.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of individual batches.
  • Maintain active communication with other departments to ensure efficient operation.
  • Record information on batch sheets to meet Quality Assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize scales and meters to obtain precise and accurate readings.
  • Have general knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) system.
  • Properly clean equipment using the Clean Out of Place (C.O.P.) tank.
  • Operate motorized material handling equipment.
  • Manage inventory consumptions or creation in the inventory management system.
  • Alert the Supervisor to major mechanical problems and process deviations.
  • Participate in safety meetings and trainings.
  • Train new hires as required.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Foster open communications and a good attitude toward work and fellow employees.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience operating machinery and handling GMP's and product specifications.
  • SPC (weight control) experience.
  • Preferred education, experience, and skills include 2 years of experience operating blending equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend shift change instructions, short correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate general mathematics using units of weight measurement and volume.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • General knowledge of chemicals.
  • Basic level computer skills, necessary to operate equipment controls.
  • Ability to plan activities and work independently.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging attitude toward colleagues at work.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • General knowledge of equipment and troubleshooting to correct processing deficiencies.
