Position Summary: The Welding Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the efforts of personnel engaged in the fabrication and assembly of structural products during the 2nd shift. This position demands a strong background in welding, proficiency in reading blueprints, and a solid understanding of metal properties, complemented by effective leadership skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of team members involved in the fabrication and assembly of structural products during the 2nd shift.
- Evaluate work orders and blueprints to ascertain necessary materials, operations, and the sequence of tasks required.
- Request materials and ensure their efficient utilization to achieve production targets.
- Inspect ongoing work and finished products to guarantee adherence to the highest quality standards.
- Execute welding tasks utilizing arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding techniques.
- Assemble components through bolting and perform repairs by disassembling, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Operate shop cranes, forklifts, and other machinery as required to facilitate production.
- Utilize sound judgment in managing employee productivity, attendance, and related matters, fostering a positive work atmosphere.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and quality assurance protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural fabrication or a related discipline.
- Advanced welding skills, with certifications in FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and comprehension.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to operate shop cranes and forklifts.
- Must be capable of lifting 75 pounds with assistance and pushing/pulling 50 pounds.
- Availability to work 2nd shift and the ability to work overtime as necessary.
