Job Overview

Compassion Behavioral Health is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Lead Behavioral Health Technician to join our second shift team. As a key member of our BHT team, you will provide leadership and guidance to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care in alignment with facility policies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the BHT team on second shift, ensuring consistent adherence to facility policies and protocols.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new BHTs to your shift, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Monitor patient behavior and document progress, incidents, or concerns in patient records.
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities and monitor group sessions to promote engagement and recovery.
  • Ensure a safe and structured environment by conducting regular safety checks and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with clinical and medical staff to support patient treatment plans and ensure the needs of patients are met.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities and ensure adherence to their treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Communicate with family members and other professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, offering insights and updates regarding patient care and technician operations.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives within the BHT department to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in behavioral health, psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician or in a related role within a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse disorders and familiarity with treatment protocols.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations and provide effective crisis intervention.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention.
  • Must be able to pass a level II background check and drug screening.
