The Village of Ruidoso, NM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks at our wastewater treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Plant Operators with routine maintenance and repair tasks
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with wastewater treatment equipment
- Inspect and maintain vehicles and light equipment
- Perform grounds keeping services, including mowing, weed eating, and snow removal
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by management
- High School Education or Equivalent required
- Two years' experience in maintenance or construction required
- Building and ground maintenance experience preferred
- State of New Mexico level 1 wastewater certification required within 2 years of date of hire
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors in inclement weather conditions. The ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in confined spaces is also required.
