Job Description:

The Chicago School, a leading nonprofit institution dedicated to psychology and its applications, seeks a highly qualified Director of Clinical Training for its Clinical Forensic PsyD program. As a key member of the Department of Clinical Forensic Psychology, this individual will oversee the entire practicum and internship experience for students, collaborating with the Department Chair and Office of Placement and Training to ensure a seamless transition between academic and professional settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a network of practicum and internship sites, fostering strong relationships with site supervisors and ensuring a high-quality training experience for students.
  • Provide education and support to students navigating the practicum and internship search processes, addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct annual site visits to evaluate the effectiveness of practicum and internship sites and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage the flow of information regarding students' progress, including problems and successes, to academic department chairs, faculty, and practicum and internship sites.
  • Oversee the review of practicum and internship evaluations and related paperwork, ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
  • Consult on the development of new initiatives and projects within the Office of Placement and Training, contributing to the growth and innovation of the department.

Requirements:

  • Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical, Clinical Forensic, or Counseling Psychology
  • Licensure in a relevant profession
  • At least 5 years of teaching and academic administration experience at the post-secondary level
  • 5+ years of clinical experience, preferably in forensic settings
  • Record of scholarship and/or community service
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to promote a culture of excellence and innovation
