Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician Lead to join our team at Webber. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for leading maintenance crews and performing daily work activities to maintain contracted assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance crews and perform daily work activities to maintain contracted assets.
  • Responsible for maintenance, servicing, and repairs of roads and other infrastructure assets.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure compliance with company safety rules and safe practices.
  • Train, direct, and coordinate the work of crews to perform maintenance activities.
  • Assist in making recommendations for employee performance, coaching, rewards, and disciplining.
  • Direct and coordinate local emergency response and respond as needed to road closures or incidents.
  • Create safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control by setting up and removing traffic control devices.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair of structures and equipment rooms, including portals, railings, expansion joints, doors, and painting.
  • Repair and maintain functionality of roadway catch basins, sumps, and pumps, fire hydrants, and other mechanical assets.
  • Repair and maintain basic electrical systems, including emergency telephones, CCTV systems, electronic traffic signs, call boxes, lane signals, and lighting.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
  • Required to be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces, including potholes, striping, adding or replacing reflectors, working with concrete and asphalt.
  • Create safe traffic control by setting up and removing traffic control devices.
  • Maintain a clean appearance of highways and medians through litter and debris removal and disposal.
  • Repair and maintain functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc.
  • Control vegetation appearance and growth through use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers.
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of signs, guardrails, fence, and lighting through repair and/or replacement.
  • Keep roadways free of debris, including ice and snow, by using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites operating pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles.
  • Required to be available and accessible for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED (Required)
  • One (1) year work experience in infrastructure, maintenance, and repair (Preferred)
  • A valid driver license and a good driving record are required to drive a company vehicle.
  • CDL, DOT certifications, Electrical and Welding Certifications (Highly Desirable)
Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk on a wide range of surfaces; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to pass fit test for respirator as required. Ability to work at heights. Ability to work in confined spaces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents. The noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate.
