Job Summary:

The Director of Quality and Patient Safety will lead the development of a comprehensive quality program to improve clinical outcomes, enhance value, and minimize patient harm at Silver Cross Hospital. This individual will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure care that is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered. The Director will be accountable for implementing quality-related performance improvement, patient safety, and external regulatory agency activities in accordance with the hospital's policies, procedures, mission, and strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a quality program that includes quality measurement, external reporting, quality improvement, regulatory/accreditation compliance, and high reliability.
  • Oversee the infection prevention program and patient safety program, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, failure mode analysis, systems design, and Leapfrog safety grade requirements.
  • Cultivate and manage the infrastructure for support of process improvement teams and committees.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to direct reports, foster professional growth and development of the team, and facilitate employee engagement.
  • Ensure the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Behavior.
Requirements:

Education and Training:
  • Master's degree in nursing or related healthcare field required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse preferred. Knowledge and experience in infection control preferred.
  • 5 years management experience as well as 5 years' experience in hospital and/or healthcare quality/safety required.
  • CPHQ and CPPS preferred.
