Job Overview

The Sales Director - Colorado will lead the sales teams in the region, while also crafting and implementing sales support and marketing strategies, achieving quarterly objectives, and offering training and guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities
Primary duties include:

  1. Overseeing and coordinating sales initiatives in the Colorado market.
  2. Managing the sales team and support personnel in Colorado, including sales representatives, merchandising managers, and administrative staff.
  3. Establishing sales targets and conducting quarterly performance evaluations.
  4. Making daily operational decisions for the sales team.
  5. Administering quarterly promotional plans and budget allocations.
  6. Collaborating with Data Analysts to gain insights into the pricing and promotional landscape within the state.
  7. Employing business analytics tools to convey or present information for strategic decision-making and to track sales objectives.
  8. Overseeing the use of Salesforce software for the Colorado team.
  9. Assisting the sales team in building high-level relationships with dispensary owners and other key stakeholders.
  10. Managing the sales aspects of new product introductions and contributing to the innovation pipeline.
  11. Providing individual and group sales training to the team.
  12. Facilitating weekly meetings for the sales team.
  13. Acting as a liaison between the sales team and other departments regarding operational matters.
  14. Coordinating communications with marketing for promotional materials and campaigns.
  15. Ensuring proper training through Learn Brands Colorado.
  16. Monitoring the competitive pricing environment in the market.
  17. Spending time in the field with the sales team twice a week.
  18. Ensuring that merchandising, budtender education, and pop-up strategies are effective for success.
  19. Expecting to spend 80% of time in the field.
Qualifications:
  • A strong passion for Wana Brands and a solid understanding of the industry.
  • Proven ability to model and train teams in consultative selling techniques.
  • Capability to motivate and inspire the sales team.
  • Experience in selling premium quality products and managing a diverse product portfolio.
  • Strong persuasive sales skills, including the ability to effectively position Wana products against competitors.
  • Ability to cultivate constructive and cooperative relationships with internal and external partners over time.
  • Prior relationships with cannabis and/or consumer packaged goods accounts.
  • Proficiency in building high-level relationships with key account owners and buyers.
  • Previous experience in sales management within consumer packaged goods and/or cannabis sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Persistence, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to grow market share.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work some weekends and evenings.
Supervisory Role
This position includes direct reports and overall supervisory responsibility for the Sales Team and Brand Ambassadors. The individual in this role has the authority to make hiring and firing decisions, and their recommendations regarding employee status changes are highly valued.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience with cannabis account relationships.
  • Prior experience in sales management.
  • Strong analytical background in consumer packaged goods management.
Work Authorization
This position requires a valid state-issued license to operate within the cannabis industry.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary based on experience, ranging from $125,000 to $150,000, with potential bonuses.

Position Type and Work Hours
This role is exempt from overtime pay due to executive classification. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, with some weekend and evening work required.
