Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate computed tomography equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient comfort and ability
  • Collaborate with patients to ensure accurate clinical history and procedure documentation
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instruction to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety
  • Assume responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures
  • Assist radiologists/physicians during interventional CT procedures, and assume aseptic surgical techniques
  • Evaluate images for technical quality, manipulate display parameters, and maintain archival storage of digitized data
  • Initiate basic life support actions when necessary, and provide patient education
  • Assist in maintaining patient records, respecting confidentiality and institutional policies
  • Assume responsibility for assigned area and report equipment malfunctions
  • Provide practical instruction for students, and may be responsible for the control of inventory and purchase of supplies for assigned area
  • Maintain knowledge of and observe Universal precautions, and understand and apply patient relation skills
  • Perform routine cleaning of all CT equipment, and pursue appropriate continuing education

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with 6 weeks training in CT scanning
  • 1 or more year experience in general Radiology, including 6 to 12 months experience working with CT scanners
  • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date
  • Technician Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 18 months of hire date or job transfer date
