About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing educational and behavioral services to children and adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Behavior Management Strategies: Develop and implement behavior management techniques to prevent, intervene, and address challenging behaviors.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations and provide support to individuals in need.
  • Review and Implement Behavior Intervention Plans: Collaborate with BCBA, teachers, and program supervisors to review and implement behavior intervention plans.
  • Document Sessions and Collect Data: Accurately document sessions and collect behavioral and academic data to inform treatment plans.
  • Support Independent Living Skills: Assist individuals in developing independent daily living skills, such as toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work with SLP, OT, and PT professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required for all applicants.
  • Two Years of Pediatric Experience: Preferred for this role.
  • Compliance with Professional Standards: Must comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Competency Program: Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR and Health Certificate: Required for some positions.
  • Ability to Maintain Confidentiality: Must understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals.
