Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Grafton, Wisconsin. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and blood gases.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues, and assist physicians with bedside procedures as needed.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment, and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  • Patient Education: Educate and instruct patients in the purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients and facilitate clinical problem-solving.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Certification: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months, or active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2019.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • Skills: Effective organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, proficient computer skills, and excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
