Job Title: Emergency Veterinary Technician

The Premier Veterinary Group in Grayslake, IL is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department on swing shift.

About the Role:

As a Veterinary Technician in our Emergency and Critical Care Department, you will be responsible for triaging and providing care for patients presenting to and hospitalized in our department. You will work closely with our DVMs to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, as well as manage client relationships and provide education on pet care.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage incoming patients and manage client relationships
  • Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Complete patient daily treatments in a timely manner
  • Assess hospitalized patients and utilize intuitive skills as a Technician
  • Assist with flow and organization of the Emergency and Critical Care department
  • Obtain and process laboratory samples
  • Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
  • Execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
Requirements:
  • General nursing care and treatment of patients
  • Administering and monitoring anesthesia
  • Assisting the veterinarian in procedures
  • Admitting and discharging patients
  • Client communication and education
