The Opportunity

We're seeking a Per Diem Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a Per Diem Technologist, you'll have the flexibility to work on a moment's notice, covering various office environments and experiencing different settings. You'll be working with the latest 3D tomosynthesis digital mammography equipment in an OB/Gyn office environment.

Responsibilities
  • Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast cancers and lesions.
  • Responsible for the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service in the practice in which you work.
  • Assist practice in any and all ways possible to ensure all eligible age-appropriate patients have annual screening mammograms.
  • Prepare patients for the mammographic procedure and explain procedures to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Move mammographic equipment to specific positions and adjust controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.
  • Examine digital images for image quality and ensure equipment is in proper working order at all times.
  • Perform all required QA testing required to comply with MQSA, ACR, and State requirements/regulations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and process routine paperwork and all required data entry.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
  • Prepare all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and State requirements.
  • Assist the Radiologist with QA/QC reporting and perform all mammography tracking following MQSA guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain all QA documents necessary to exceed Annual FDA Inspection requirements and be responsible for obtaining and maintaining ACR accreditation.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in Mammography.
  • ARRT certification.
