Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated 1st Grade Teacher to join our team at Sacred Heart School in West Reading. As a 1st Grade Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and spiritual growth in our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners, align with the Diocese of Allentown's curriculum standards, and promote academic achievement.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment that encourages active learning, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a seamless and supportive learning experience.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress, identify areas of improvement, and inform instruction.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in education, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to the growth and development of colleagues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent.
  • Certification: PA teaching certification preferred.
  • Clearances: Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, contracted position with a normal classroom setting. The successful candidate will be required to attend school-related events and participate in professional development opportunities as needed.
