Music Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Educator to join our team at the Diocese of Allentown. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing daily instruction and selecting age-appropriate activities in the curriculum area of music.

• Teaching and Instruction: Provide daily instruction and select learning activities appropriate to student's needs based on the music curriculum set by the Diocese of Allentown.
• Lesson Planning: Create lesson plans that are appropriate for the age and abilities of the students in the class.
• Classroom Environment: Develop an environment that promotes learning and social interaction.
• Student Supervision: Act as a positive role model for the children and actively establish and maintain appropriate student supervision.
• Choral Direction: Organize and direct the school chorus preparing them for Christmas concerts and talent shows.
• Grading and Reporting: Posts grades and sends grade reports to parents as required by the school system.
• Professional Development: Keep informed of current educational practices through professional reading and educational opportunities.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education preferred.
• Certification: PA Teacher certification preferred.
• Clearances: Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014.

Working Conditions: Normal classroom setting. Working days are Tuesday and Thursday between 7:15 am -3:15 pm. Wednesday 11:15pm to 3:15pm.
