Key Responsibilities
  • Apply principles, methods, and techniques of traffic engineering technology to design and optimize traffic signal systems, intersection designs, and traffic management plans.
  • Assist with quantity takeoff and engineer estimates for traffic and civil design projects.
  • Perform calculations and data analysis to ensure accurate and complete design of project features.
  • Coordinate with other departments and sub-consultants on project design and implementation.
  • Continuously improve and develop knowledge of state and regional regulations, as well as local agency requirements.
  • Effectively communicate project status and timelines to stakeholders.
  • Work to complete projects on time and under budget, adhering to department QA/QC processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • 0-4 years of experience in traffic operations or a related field.
  • Working knowledge and experience with state and regional regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and traffic analysis software (HCS, Synchro, Sydra).
  • Valid driver's license.
