Position Overview:

This role is designed to deliver evidence-based therapeutic services to clients, with primary responsibilities encompassing the following:

Role Modeling:
  • Encourage self-worth among clients.
  • Establish and maintain healthy boundaries.
  • Promote personal hygiene and appropriate appearance among youth and young adults.
  • Reinforce socially acceptable behaviors (e.g., manners, eating habits, safety).
  • Facilitate the development of thoughtful decision-making skills.
Client Assessment:
  • Screen and evaluate potential clients to determine appropriate services and interventions.
  • Provide initial clinical evaluations.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Administer caregiver strain assessments.
  • Utilize the Child and Adolescent Functioning Assessment Scale (CAFAS/PECAFAS) as necessary.
  • Employ validated assessment tools relevant to evidence-based practices.
  • Understand and apply ACE scores in service planning.
  • Develop and oversee Individualized Recovery and Resiliency Plans (IRRPs).
  • Document and evaluate client progress towards their goals.
Service Coordination and Collaboration:
  • Facilitate referrals to meet clients' health, educational, mental health, and employment needs.
  • Participate in team meetings for all clients.
  • Collaborate with other programs within the organization to enhance service delivery.
  • Engage with external providers to ensure optimal care for clients.
  • Attend relevant meetings and provide treatment summaries as required.
  • Advocate for clients with various agencies to coordinate necessary services.
  • Monitor the quality of services provided.
Direct Services:
  • Deliver therapy to individuals, families, and groups referred to the counseling center.
  • Exhibit strong engagement skills and clinical proficiency in trauma-focused treatment.
  • Provide trauma-informed individual therapy to clients of all ages.
  • Manage a clinical caseload, with client numbers determined by session frequency.
  • Utilize preventive intervention techniques to ensure safety.
  • Offer outpatient services, including individual and family counseling, as well as group training for clients with mental health or substance use disorders.
Documentation Standards:
  • Ensure timely documentation of all case activities in line with organizational policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive case files in compliance with standards.
  • Complete necessary applications for psychiatric residential treatment facilities.
  • Prepare monthly summaries for clients in custody or receiving wraparound services.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Participate in all required meetings and supervision sessions.
  • Adhere to the organization's code of conduct and ethical standards.
  • Safeguard client confidentiality at all times.
  • Foster a safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service and maintain required certifications.
Other Duties May Include:
  • Transport clients as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of transportation vehicles.
  • Document mileage for travel using organizational vehicles.
  • Renew driver's license annually.
  • Refuel vehicles as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy, with eligibility for licensure.
  • Understanding of childcare principles.
  • Proficient in individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong decision-making skills regarding client safety and well-being.
  • Dependable and emotionally stable, capable of performing physical tasks as required.
  • Recognize when to seek assistance and consultation.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Clinical knowledge in child development and treatment planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Travel Requirements: Travel may be necessary depending on site assignments, with mileage reimbursement for travel beyond daily commutes.

Work Schedule: Typically, the work schedule is Monday to Friday, with flexible hours based on organizational needs. Evening availability is required at least four times a week.

Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to sit, stand, and reach, with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
