Overview
This role is situated within the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), specifically in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the House Office Buildings (HOB). The position may involve responsibilities across various sections within the Labor and Custodial Branch.
The individual in this position acts as a Custodial Operations Supervisor, establishing the work pace, offering guidance, and executing as well as verifying cleaning tasks in designated areas.
Key Responsibilities
The work schedule for this role is set for the night shift from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM. This position is deemed essential during emergencies, which may require attendance during unforeseen situations. The night shift is eligible for a 10% Night Differential.
- Oversees the activities of Custodial Workers, WG-04, receiving directives from Custodial Worker Supervisors.
- Conducts cleaning operations in assigned locations autonomously.
- Organizes cleaning tasks according to a predetermined schedule, specifying the frequency of each duty.
- Independently assesses and prioritizes non-routine assignments.
- Utilizes scaffolds, ladders, and man lifts to perform cleaning tasks.
- Maintains cleanliness of various surfaces including floors, walls, and ceilings using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Prepares spaces for cleaning by relocating heavy furniture and other necessary items.
- Restocks supplies such as toilet paper, towels, and soap as required.
- Identifies and reports any maintenance issues such as broken lights or damaged flooring.
- Collects and sorts recyclable materials and disposes of waste appropriately.
- Adheres to all safety regulations and standard operating procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Participates in training to uphold safety practices and equipment usage.
- Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and able to pass a drug screening. All candidates must demonstrate relevant experience and meet the eligibility criteria by the closing date of the job announcement.
