About the RoleThis Clinical Nurse III- B3W: Elective Orthopedics role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will contribute to the creation of a supportive and inclusive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, identifying their needs and developing effective care plans that prioritize their well-being and comfort.
- Medication Administration and Management: Safely administer medications as ordered, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
- Treatment and Procedures: Perform various treatments, procedures, and special tests under physician orders, maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the nursing team to create comprehensive care plans, share knowledge, and provide support to ensure seamless patient care.
- Quality Improvement and Patient Safety: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A graduate degree from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree)
- A current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
