Sheet Metal Mechanic Apprentice

At ShoffnerKalthoff MES, Inc., we're seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our HVACR, Electrical, and Plumbing services, you'll play a crucial role in delivering top-notch work to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install complex commercial ductwork in various job settings.
  • Pre-assemble components of commercial ductwork.
  • Unload, move, and handle commercial-scale ductwork.
  • Properly finish and seal ductwork.
  • Work consistently at heights using ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, roof, or boom lifts.
  • Assist with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment and devices.
  • Learn about and work with a wide variety of power tools and hand tools.
  • Perform accurate measurements using tape measures and other precision devices.
  • Complete classroom and home study, on time and to a high standard, with frequent practical skills and schoolwork knowledge testing.
  • Learn to layout ductwork to be installed.
  • Install commercial ceiling diffusers (grilles), wall mount diffusers, and other air devices.
Requirements:
  • No prior sheet metal experience required, but is helpful.
