Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven and seasoned Head of Operations, Fulfillment & Last Mile to lead our team. This individual will spearhead data-centric operational excellence, manage systems and processes, and enhance our logistics framework, catering to both enterprise retailers and direct-to-consumer eCommerce clients. This position will report directly to the company founders.
- Design and execute a scalable logistics framework to support rapid growth across fleet management, middle mile transportation, sortation, warehouse management, fulfillment, and last mile delivery.
- Lead the establishment of data-driven procedures and systems across the organization to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain metrics, cost models, and KPIs to evaluate performance and monitor progress against objectives.
- Oversee daily logistics operations and workforce, ensuring timely and cost-effective fulfillment and delivery.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts to optimize costs and service levels.
- Provide leadership for continuous improvement in the current logistics setup, including processes, technology/tools, physical infrastructure, and vendor partnerships.
- Take direct responsibility for P&L, compliance, and workforce management, including hiring, training, and developing logistics staff.
- Proactively communicate supply chain issues, risks, and opportunities to senior management and drive collaborative solutions.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to forecast and plan for changes in demand, making necessary adjustments to optimize assets and resources.
- 10-15 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, third-party logistics, last-mile operations, or a related field, particularly in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Extensive experience in developing logistics and last-mile operations for both retail and direct-to-consumer eCommerce businesses.
- Proven track record of scaling operations from a pre-seed/seed company to series B or later in a senior leadership role, with direct responsibility for P&L.
- Demonstrated success in adopting technology and analytical solutions to optimize logistical processes and achieve business objectives.
- Strong understanding of supply chain best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Total compensation ranges from 150K-180K (including bonus) along with a competitive stock option package as a key early-stage leader.
