Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arboriculture and Urban Forestry Specialist to join our team at the City of Durham. As an integral part of our General Services Department, you will be responsible for implementing the city's annual tree planting and maintenance program, including coordinating work performed by contractors and ensuring quality control.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in arboriculture, urban forestry, and grant writing, with experience in managing tree planting programs using in-house and/or contract crews. A valid North Carolina driver's license is required, as well as certification from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or willingness to obtain within six months of hire.

This role requires excellent communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including neighborhoods, partners, and residents. The salary range for this position is $46,093 - $71,532 per year, based on location and experience.
