Pediatric Hematology Oncology Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary research team at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioengineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related field, and will be responsible for developing new nanotechnology-enabled methods to support the childhood cancer and regenerative medicine research communities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop novel microfluidic devices and nanocarrier systems for gene and stem cell-based therapies
- Establish rapid, safe, cost-effective, and efficient intracellular delivery methods for genes and genome-editing machinery
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to explore the ultimate limits of miniaturization and develop new tools for stem cell biologists and clinical scientists
- Supervise, mentor, and teach undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, as well as new postdoctoral trainees and staff research associates
- Communicate effectively with other scientists, regulatory personnel, biotech companies, and sponsored research organizations
- Ph.D. or equivalent in Bioengineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field
- Background in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, mRNA therapeutics, and micro/nanofabrication techniques
- Experience in cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, immunofluorescence/flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing techniques, gene editing methods, and biochemical techniques
- Ability to multitask, adapt to new research challenges, and work in a diverse, interdisciplinary research environment
