Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics-CHLA Division of Hematology Oncology

The Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and Children's Hospital Los Angeles are seeking a highly qualified Medical Director of Hematology to join their esteemed team. As a key member of the Division of Hematology-Oncology and the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute, you will be responsible for leading the Hematology service and driving clinical practice systems organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement clinical practice systems to optimize patient flow, reimbursement, and quality of care
- Collaborate with the hematology team, division, and CHLA administration to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Conduct research and academic activities in clinical systems and quality improvement
- Provide clinical care in non-malignant hematology and participate in educational and administrative responsibilities
About the Division:
The Cancer and Blood Disease Institute is a world-renowned program with a strong focus on diagnosis, management, and research of non-malignant blood disorders. Our team of medical professionals uses an interdisciplinary approach to treat children with blood disorders and continually advances in treating blood diseases. We have a specialized program in general hematology, hemostasis and thrombosis, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and other red blood cell disorders, bone marrow failure, iron overload, white blood cell disorders, epidermolysis bullosa, and clinical trials including gene therapy.
Requirements:
- Primary academic appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California at the level of Associate Professor
- Expertise in clinical practice systems organization and informatics
- Ability to effectively use data analytics to streamline patient flow and improve quality of care
- Academic interest in clinical systems and quality improvement
