Job Description

As a Recreation Associate at Women In Need, Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of homeless families in New York City. Your responsibilities will include planning and implementing educational and recreational activities that cater to the diverse needs of our clients.

Annual Salary: $52,000, based on experience and qualifications.

Main Responsibilities
  • Organize and lead recreational activities, including arts and crafts, sports, and cultural events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and city programs to access free or low-cost resources for our clients.
  • Work closely with the Recreation Coordinator to plan and execute special events that celebrate the rich diversity of our families.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children during field trips and outdoor activities.
Essential Qualifications
  • Degree in a related field or significant work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with homeless or at-risk youth is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification eligible.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
