The successful candidate will work closely with the General Motors project team and our Safety Director to lead and maintain an injury-free safety program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective safety strategies to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Foster a culture of safety among employees, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and provide corrective actions to prevent accidents.
- Assist in the selection process and adherence to environmental safety and health guidelines for second-tier subcontractors and suppliers.
- Perform annual safety orientations for new hires, subcontractors, and current employees.
- Manage administrative duties, including medical certifications, environmental testing, and safety documentation.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and communication skills with excellent listening abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify complex issues.
- Proven track record of motivating teams to adopt safe practices.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- OSHA 30 and/or 510 certifications within the last 3 years required.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification is preferred but not required.
- Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification is an asset.
