Operating Room First Assistant RN: A Role for the Skilled

Mercy Hospital Jefferson is seeking a skilled RNFA to join our team in the Operating Room. As a First Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our surgical team.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, maintaining professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care with other departments.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information, adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Experience: 1 year RNFA experience and OR scrub experience.
- Education: Nursing degree from an accredited school, with a preferred BSN.
- License: Current RN license in our state or compact state.
- Certifications: CNOR certification required within 1 year, RN-First Assistant required, and ACLS and BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
