Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to contribute to our exceptional MRI Department.
GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in evaluating the Physician Order and the rationale for the examination, preparing patients, positioning them accurately, and executing MRI imaging procedures. This professional exhibits advanced knowledge of MRI/MRA and associated clinical indicators relevant to the examinations conducted. The MRI Technologist may modify scanning protocols based on the anatomical and physiological characteristics observed during the imaging process. Collaboration with MRI leadership and Radiologists is essential to ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images in alignment with departmental protocols. The role includes administering contrast media as dictated by specific diagnostic guidelines and assisting physicians or advanced practice providers with MRI-guided invasive procedures. This position demands a variety of technical tasks requiring independent judgment, integrity, and initiative, while also being capable of functioning with minimal supervision.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program is preferred.
- Advanced certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT; OR MRI Registry-eligible with certification within one year of employment.
- Maintain Continuing Education credits (24 CEU in two-year periods) and other requirements to uphold ARRT certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- One year of MRI experience is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of cross-sectional anatomy is essential.
- Competence in venipuncture is necessary.
- Knowledge of methods to set up and operate MRI equipment is required.
- Must possess a conscientious and detail-oriented approach, along with excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with patients and various levels of hospital personnel.
