This position will oversee and support all daily operations of the WVU Nursery School by providing leadership, administrative oversight, and classroom instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support daily operations of the WVU Nursery School
  • Provide leadership and administrative oversight to ensure the school's success
  • Serve as a classroom instructor and role model for students and staff
  • Supervise and mentor teachers and staff to ensure high-quality education and care
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations
  • Maintain the Nursery School as a clinical placement site for students
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff from the School of Education to advance the school's mission
  • Conduct educational testing and assessments to inform instruction
  • Oversee budget and financial operations to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Oversee facilities management to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment

Requirements

  • Master's degree in child development or early childhood education
  • Three or more years of teaching experience with a focus on early childhood education
  • Knowledge of child care training practices and regulations
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to inspire and motivate staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, staff, and faculty
  • Ability to actively lift and carry preschool-aged children
