Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer role is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of a specific production value stream or product. This position collaborates closely with Manufacturing Supervision and Design Engineering to optimize operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the work environment to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist in the development of layouts or floor plans for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct inspections and various diagnostic tests to verify optimal product performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and document testing procedures and outcomes.
  • Assess prototypes and analyze machinery performance, exploring innovative production methods.
  • Ensure timely completion of all Manufacturing Engineering-related reviews and manage inputs and outputs according to established processes.
  • Create detailed work instructions for manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment.
  • Respond effectively to work stoppages and equipment breakdowns.
  • Determine line capacity, balance, cycle time, and takt times.
  • Ensure the availability of appropriate tooling for the value stream.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to customers.
  • Lead and mentor Manufacturing Technicians in Manufacturing Engineering processes.
Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years in Aerospace or Space sectors with troubleshooting expertise. Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, drawings, and test equipment is essential. Experience with precision bearings and the design of precision mechanisms, as well as avionics, is advantageous.

Certifications:

Six Sigma Green Belt is required; Black Belt certification is preferred.

Other Skills:

Strong organizational and presentation abilities. Experience with optical encoders and aerospace programs is a plus. Proficient in writing clear and comprehensive technical documentation. A highly analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail is essential.
