The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service healthcare facility offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. Our 21-bed hospital is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season.

Our campus includes four operating rooms, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section operating room, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

We are fully accredited and provide high-quality care in a compassionate environment to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. We have been nationally recognized for outstanding patient care.

Position Summary

Up to $30K Commitment Incentive

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professionals groups, regulating bodies/agents.

Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and coordinate nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and document the process.
  • Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the healthcare team. Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
Requirements
  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.
