Certified Medical Instrument Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Instrument Technician to join our team at Geisinger. As a key member of our Diagnostic Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation, care, sterilization, and transportation of medical and surgical instruments, packs, supplies, and equipment.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have experience working in a clinical environment and be certified as a Sterile Processing Technician within 18 months. This is a full-time night shift position with a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
This role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. You will be responsible for collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination. Additionally, you will manually clean supplies of contaminants, remove waste matter, and operate and maintain decontamination equipment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization
- Monitor and operate sterilization equipment
- Examine supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Test and report any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment
- Sterilize, prepare, wrap, and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures
