Cardiac rhythm specialists play a vital role in assisting electrophysiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Magnet Medical is seeking an experienced Electrophysiology Technician to join their team in Danville, Pennsylvania.

An Electrophysiology (EP) Technician works closely with electrophysiologists to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). This highly specialized role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Procedure Preparation:
- Patient Preparation: Verify patient information, review medical history, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
- Equipment Preparation: Prepare the electrophysiology lab for procedures, ensuring all equipment is sterile, functioning, and ready.
- Assisting During Electrophysiology Procedures:
- Technical Support: Assist electrophysiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures, handling and operating specialized equipment as needed.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures and report any changes or abnormalities to the physician.
- Post-Procedure Care and Monitoring:
- Care Coordination: Assist in transferring patients to recovery or the appropriate unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort during transport.
- Follow-Up Care: Provide post-procedure instructions to patients and their families, including care of the catheter insertion site and activity restrictions.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Equipment Calibration: Ensure proper calibration, operation, and maintenance of electrophysiology equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Perform routine checks to ensure all equipment is functional before each procedure and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the procedure.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:
- Teamwork: Work closely with electrophysiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the EP lab to ensure smooth and efficient patient care during procedures.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with the team to provide feedback on patient progress, equipment status, and any issues or concerns that arise during procedures.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Accurate Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient information, equipment used, and any changes in the patient's condition.
- Estimated Salary Range: $65,000-$90,000 per year, based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week.
