Role Overview:

As a Lead Project Engineer, you will operate under the guidance of the Chief Project Engineer, focusing on engineering, capital planning, and project execution at our facilities.

This role involves managing a portfolio of medium to large-scale capital projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful project outcomes.

You'll have the opportunity to oversee environmental health and safety (EHS) standards and lead project management activities, including planning, execution, and performance tracking.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to guarantee project success.
  • Identify and implement best practices in project management utilizing a stage-gate framework and risk management strategies.
  • Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring EHS excellence throughout all project phases.
  • Lead safety initiatives during all project stages, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and other safety assessments.
  • Provide technical support and oversee the fabrication of new equipment or refurbishment of existing systems.
  • Manage multiple projects of varying complexity, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Regularly assess project progress, addressing any deviations from the plan.
  • Communicate project status and technical issues to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with leadership.
  • Ensure projects meet operational requirements as defined by business objectives.
  • Accountable for achieving safety, operability, cost, and schedule metrics.

Qualifications:

A degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution is preferred, though other engineering degrees with relevant experience will be considered. A minimum of 5 years of applicable industry experience is required.

Experience in project engineering or management, particularly in capital projects, is essential. PMP certification is advantageous.

Familiarity with local and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards is necessary.

Strong communication skills are vital, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.

Demonstrated experience in teamwork and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders is expected.

Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite is required, with knowledge of AutoCAD being a plus.
