Mammography Technologist

About the Role
This position requires the candidate to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with patients, licensed independent practitioners, and referring physicians. As a mammography technologist, you will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams, adhering to institutional policies and practice standards. You must demonstrate a strong understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology, as well as maintain accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and image evaluation while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography exams, adhering to institutional policies and practice standards.
- Collaborate with patients, licensed independent practitioners, and referring physicians to ensure accurate and effective care.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to federal regulations and institutional policies.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control testing, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional standards.
- Assist with invasive procedures in breast imaging, as directed by the interpreting physician.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Met the guidelines associated with initial mammography training and maintained appropriate modality-specific continuing education credits.
- ARRT Registration in mammography preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum of one (1) year previous experience in a clinical setting.
