About the Role

Mt. Prospect Academy is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a BCBA, you will play a critical role in providing trauma-informed services to our clients, working closely with our clinical team, direct support workers, families, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervisory Role: Provide oversight to all areas of programming, including training of direct support professionals, person-centered strategies consultants, and DSP trainers.
  • Applied Behavior Analysis: Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching.
  • Resource Development: Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for the team, clients, and their families.
  • Model Teaching: Provide model teaching and other direct instructional supports, including practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction, and in-service instruction to other support professionals.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, conduct functional behavioral assessments and analyses when appropriate, and develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing support and training to direct support professionals, ABA implementers, and other individuals in support roles for families.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Create ongoing data collection systems to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers, and analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
  • Behavior Plans: Develop behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
  • Field Supervision: Review and sign off on behavior plan/treatment plan training for all field staff and provide field supervision when necessary.
  • Electronic Health Records: Utilize MPA's electronic health records system (KCare) to enter session notes within 72 hours of each session.
  • Consultation and Communication: Provide consultation services and maintain ongoing communication with all constituents, including other supports, parents, community, and community agencies.
  • Professional Development: Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources, and complete continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between personal care staff and families, and provide ongoing feedback to government-related agencies that contract with such families.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in Special Education or a related human services field.
  • BCBA Certification: Certified as a BCBA for a minimum of 2 years, unless prior approval is granted by the Executive Director.
  • Training and Experience: Successful completion of internship and/or formal training in the analysis of behavior and instructional strategies training related to working with clients who have pervasive developmental disorders and related disorders, their parents, and other agencies working with clients.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skills, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations.
  • Flexibility and Availability: Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, functionality, and with minimal direction, and flexible availability including Monday through Friday 9am-5pm at minimum.
