As the Executive Director of Operations at BlackHawk Industrial Operating Co., you will be responsible for developing and leading a coherent strategy and effort consistent with company initiatives, guidelines, and resources to achieve the company's goals and mission according to opportunities available within the assigned market area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy: Personally exhibit, recruit, and coach associates consistent with Core Behaviors, promote a culture of safety, and direct, coordinate, and oversee the joint efforts of the Customer Service, Technical Sales, and Warehouse teams to enable the consistent delivery of BlackHawk's differentiating value.
- Financial Planning and Management: Build and execute a financial plan designed to reach assigned targets for sales, net profits, and return on assets, ensuring progress is monitored and reported, and appropriate adjustments are implemented to achieve results.
- Sales and Customer Service: Drive the overall growth of profit center sales and income by establishing and maintaining a productive sales team and providing them with the resources, knowledge, training, and coaching needed to ensure their successful execution of BlackHawk's sales and customer service processes.
- Analytics and Decision Making: Apply sound analytics and decision-making practices to evaluate and choose suitable investments of company resources and assets while monitoring and safeguarding the aforementioned, including people, working capital, plant, and equipment.
- Brand and Distribution: Champion and deliver BlackHawk's brand and distribution promise to our customers, prospects, and supplier partners locally and nationally while concurrently supporting all company-wide business initiatives.
- Collaboration and Communication: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with BlackHawk cross-functional teams to support the achievement of local and company goals while collaborating to continually improve processes and practices.
- ISO and Staff Development: Provide leadership in supporting the ISO documentation process and work with Human Resources to develop growth opportunities for your staff.
Qualifications:
- Business Development Skills: Strong business development skills, including the ability to configure, negotiate, and close on commercially viable solutions.
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to evaluate and choose suitable investments of company resources and assets.
- Coaching and Talent Development Skills: Coaching and talent development skills to develop and maintain a productive sales team.
- Financial and Business Acumen: Strong financial and business acumen, including the ability to build and execute a financial plan.

- Manufacturing and Industrial Distribution Knowledge: Good understanding of manufacturing and industrial distribution.
- Time and Resource Management Skills: Highly effective time and resource management skills to drive cross-functional efforts to deliver solutions and targeted results.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to champion and deliver BlackHawk's brand and distribution promise.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct supervisory responsibility of Account Managers and CSR Managers.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred.
- 10 years of previous experience in a similar position.
- Direct P&L responsibility.
Work Environment:
- Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Employee is required to use a computer and other equipment.
- Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
PPE Required:
- Eye protection, ear protection, and as required by customer, steel-toed shoes, and head protection.
